Is The iPhone X Worth Buying Right Now?

By | August 23, 2018

Part of me wants to be responsible right now and save money… And another part of me wants to go out and buy an iPhone X…right now. Right now would be a good time to buy iPhone X?

purchase iphone x right now

Are you just waiting for the next iPhone but it’s so tempting to get the X? As is the case every August – the month before Apple releases its new iPhone lineup – one of the most common questions out there is if one should wait for the new iPhones or go ahead and purchase last year’s models. Perhaps this year more than ever, the answer is clear: wait. There are a pair of reasons why it makes entirely more sense to wait than to rush out and buy right now. I support this ideal for below reasons:

  • The iPhone X is an excellent device. In fact, it’s arguably the best iPhone that Apple has ever released. On the flip side, it’s the most expensive iPhone ever released; and a year later, that price is starting to show itself. The iPhone X starts at $999 – and despite the fact that $1,000 smartphones have become the norm over the last year, it’s hard to justify spending that much on a year-old product.
  • If you can hold out just three weeks, you’ll have more options to choose from. Apple will start taking pre-orders for its three upcoming iPhones next month on Friday, September 14. If true, it indicates the Cupertino tech giant should announce the new phones earlier that week, probably on Wednesday, September 12.
  • The introduction of new iPhones also means the current models will become cheaper. Reports have suggested that the 2018 iPhone X refresh will drop the entry-level price to $899, with the iPhone X Plus coming in at the $999 price point. Hence you might be kicking yourself in a few weeks if you run out and pay full retail for it today.

What do you think? If someone asked you today if they should buy the current-gen iPhone X or wait until next month, what would you say? Let us know down in the comment!
